Welcome to the Handbook of the Billiard Gods, Table Map.
My name is Allan Sand and I have been selected by the Publishing Committee of the billiard gods to present this Table Map Library.
There are several tens of thousands of graphic illustrations. The graphic illustrations provide a systematic top-down view of the position shot. These shots were taken on Brunswick 9-foot tables at Shoreline Billiards in Mountain View, California. The shots were done at medium speed. To ensure consistency and eliminate variances, the entire table was shot six times. Every position was video tapped in sessions ranging from 3 to 6 hours with the shooters. The tape was then transferred to the computer and the most accurate shots identified. These clips were closely viewed in slow motion to identify exact rail contact positions. The information was recorded in Wei table code. Total effort has exceeded 1500 hours for the first edition and another 250 hours for this second edition. It was only the constant nagging from the Billiard Gods' Publishing Committee that kept me at the project until it is now in your hands.

Hello shooters,
My name is Big Shot and I'm the head billiard god in this part of the multiverse. I want to congratulate you on purchasing this section of our Handbook. Within, you will find many of our secrets previously revealed only to our most dedicated disciples.
I designated the Publishing Committee to provide many of our long-held secrets. After many meetings and extensive debates (more than a few that had to be settled in formal table challenges), the decision was reached that the HOBG be released in sections. The Table Map Library is the first of many books now in the planning stages.
We then started a search for an individual who could be our representative. Normally, we would have preferred to use our regular writers and dispensers of table billiard information, but they were busy with other projects we had assigned to them. I decided that the new designated translator must be someone new in the billiards writing field.
We searched for a technical writer with decades of experience. These people (many who have worked on the software help you use) had great expertise in presenting detailed information in easily understandable forms to specific target audiences. AND only those with experience playing table billiards for at least forty years was a key requirement. The love and fascination with the sport had to be almost pathologically obsessive. We searched for a long time.
We discovered Allan. Upon manifesting ourselves, we convinced him to take on this great lifetime task. (If you want more details, you'll have to ask him directly.)
Study our secrets carefully. Feel free to brag up your new knowledge and abilities to those who have not yet purchased their own copy. The knowledge and skills you will develop from this book will ensure movement towards perfection desired by all who take the Green Game seriously.
